Profile Information

How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
In the midst of mental re-programming: raised as an unconscious consumer.....moving now toward consciousness
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I hope to become the "perma-comic"
I am also begining to offer hands on workshops and clinics in organic gardening and permaculture design and implementation.
These are free programs for those who want to actually do some building of gardens and growing of food. And that is why I will not ask for fees for my programs....I am happy to share the work and effort together with others, share my harvest too and learn from one and other.
What background and skills do you bring to this community?
I'll have to look in the mirror to get a better look at my backround

My practices as a renter and gardener may more aptly be called "temp-a-culture"...in that I build with a mindset toward moving things if need be and specifically with the focus of using recycled materials that I get for free. My practices therefore may be coppied by others with the same frugality as I or duplicated for permaculture in owned properties and budgeted to the degree others can afford or want to indulge in.
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement?
As the Official Gardener to the POPE I think I can show a large audience the virtues of home gardening...I've contacted Obama about offering him my experience too

Hi Seth,
In case you're really interested in swinging by Dave Olivero's composting and soil building workshop (Dave's my husband), it will be held at our house at 11093 Zephyr St., Westminster. Thanks, and maybe we'll see you tomorrow at 9!

Hi Seth,
Thanks for your response. Well the garden is snow covered now and I can't find my summer photos. We are a long way from Louisville. I'm an international spiritual teacher/author who loves the joy of growing things...but I'm gone for a month at a time. So, I'm looking for someone who can help me with the planting (but I'm gone all of June, all of September) and then keep up with the weeding and maintenance. I have a big property--2 1/2 acres, so just getting some flowers planted is a big job. I've not done a vegie garden for years. We have a lovely property --wet lands and cat tails, a koi/goldfish pond and waterfall. Lots of coyotes...oh, and bunnies are a HUGE problem. I worked with a woman who used the Perelandra Gardening book -- working with nature spirits. The garden was built to be a co-creative adventure. But when Sue died, I haven't kept it up.
Best, Jonette

Thank you- I'll see if I can come. If you want to garden together at my brother's place (which is very lovely), we'd have to fly to Arcata, CA. I'm sure he'd love the help...

Hi Seth,
I'd be happy to collaborate with you. I am pretty busy, so we may have to be creative in our timing. This is about the time when I start to have an understanding of the fleeting look of desperation on the faces of farmers at this time of year, and especially this year. The season is upon us and the curtain is rising so to speak. We're on!
Oh, I should mention that my brother is a permaculturist and I'm a tree hugger from way back. I think there's lots of room for Perma-humor these days.

Hi Seth, thanks so much for opening your garden so others can learn. I hope to come up to volunteer so I can learn as well. I'm in Denver in Platt Park and would like to turn my yard into a model for others to see and learn. I could really use some help.
