Profile Information

How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
I am a member of the Transition Town Lyons local steering committee. As a journalist, I contribute a monthly TTL update and commentary for the Redstone Review. I am an active Permaculturist. I now have a social network at TTLyons-SapanR.ning.com and I living and working in my "retirement" at home and really loving it! TRANSTION and TRANSITION! (the Band) are becoming, rapidly, the next great adventure in my glorious life!
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
The Transition movement fills a void in my heart and mind, to actively be engaged in the important work of transitioning to resilience, away from peak oil and climate change scenarios that do not work. Working on this piece of the Future is very, very exciting!
What background and skills do you bring to this community?
Raising community awareness on all issues involved. Teaching people how best to use their individual enegies to NETWORK throughout the movement.
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement?
I shall continue to be engaged for the duration of my life. I work actively, locally and with the Transition Boulder County group as well as Transition Town Lyons, in Colorado. I will apply all of the skills that I have, from a rather robust set, to work towards a better and healthier world of all of Humankind!
Your Favorite Books/Websites/Blogs/RSS Feeds for Information about the Transition Movement
Numerous, and well known by all that are involved. All are important. Of course, at this point in the adventure, Rob Hopkins' seminal work, The Transition Handbook, reigns supreme!

TRANSITION TOWN LYONS MOVES FORWARD

by Sapan Rinpoche

LYONS - Transition Town Lyons (TTLyonsCO) is a transition initiative for the community to begin working together to look peak oil and climate change squarely in the eye and address this large question: For all those aspects of life that this community needs in order to sustain itself and thrive, how do we significantly increase resilience (to mitigate the effects of peak oil) and drastically reduce carbon emissions (to mitigate the effects… Continue

Sapan Rinpoche's "Transition Town Lyons Journal" monthly articles for the Lyons Recorder newspaper in Lyons, Colorado

Well folks ... it's about time. Since last Fall I have been writng a monthly column for the local Lyons Recorder weekly newspaper, entitled "Transition Town Lyons Journal". These articles are supposed to appear, as was planned from the start, on Transition media, from Transition US to Transition Colorado down to Transition Town Lyons websites. Although they are on the Internet at www.lyonsrecorder.com, I have been dragging my pen and keyboard in getting them up here, in my o… Continue

Kunga I wish to have back my vows. thanks ani palmo
this group is really cool and I hope to get a bit involved . I still do daily education for HepC and we are still maintaining the website on a minimal basis. Rinpoche is good and Losar at his home was as usual, very intresting. The good news is I did not have to see Ane Rinpoche there....lol My daughter may be coming to CO after she is done there in Turkey. She finally is going to retire from the AF. Yea My son is living in LA and is married to a Japanese woman and she is a theatrical lmakeup artist named Hanako. They have a son named Alistar. He is busy being a dad and worker so I dont hear that much from him but he is good. Hope you are also well. Since Aryadake passed it has been boring here for me but I keep studying and doing practices and even delved in to Christianitny for a year or so to remember why I got into Buddhism....lol Be well Ani ps just tell me you are returning those vows. Rinpoche said that is all it requires and he wants me to have them back so I can stay in the Sakay lineage rather than take them from the Chinese. thanks Kunga

Hi, Les ... just sent you a friend request. You are doing exceptional work, with great software, to manage this Transition Colorado site. Could you tell me a little bit about yourself, where you live and work, and how you became engaged with transition work. Perhaps you have been at some the meetings, with Michael Brownlee, that I have attended in Boulder. I look forward to that handshake, when we can once meet and greet face to face. Thank you for all that you do. And, yes, I will get something started here, sooner or later, in the Discussion Group postings. Take care and kindest regards, Sapan Rinpoche ... 303-923-6477 in Lyons.
