My experience Saturday, 5/16 was quiet - most people bypassed our table. I don't know what it will take to bring people in.
I agree - sharing the table with the CRC will certainly boost attendance. I didn't know we could borrow a pop-up tent. But i…
Hey guys...hope your work going on at the house went well this afternoon!! We missed you!
I'd mentioned that I'd have trouble helping at the TL booth at the Market because I'm already there (as I was the other week when I saw you!) working for my b…
That is a great movie Ashley and maybe we could show a portion at the end of the meeting for folks who have not seen it. I would recommend this as a film that could also be screened at introductory meetings. Apologies to Ellen and John for falling o…
What a whirling spring! Calling all Transition Longmontians to the Library for a huddle. Where are the groups? Alliance building, outreach, gardening? Is it time to create new groups? I am hearing people talk about 'we should approach the schools to…

I have an interesting movie called "End of Suburbia." I know we have a lot to discuss, but I would like to play an hour of the movie. What does everyone think about that? I could play the movie at the beginning of the meeting (for inspiration). Or,…

I'm on my feet and pecking away. I know Strider can sound paranoid, and I usuallydon't share his views.
I'd like to share some information. During the Y2K period Michael gave an interview to Global Public Media. If you will google his name, Michael Brownlee and Y2K, the interview will come up. It lasts 31 minitues and to me is quite instructive. I hope you will look at it and tell me what you think.
Thanks Rosellen & John for yesterday's upbeat visit to your garden - impromptu hosting a group of us after the Longmont Library Transition presentation- to show and tell your Gaia's garden inspired beautifully patterned sheetmulch and compost that smelled like springtime in January. You are off to a great beginning, even if that huge Maple tree seems to pose a light problem when it leafs out in summer. Am sure you will find a good balanced solution for tree you and your food growing.

Tanks for sharing your seed catalogues, See the events on this site for the seed ordering pot luck at Betsy Burton and Mike Whipp's Farmette in Lyons, should be great.
It was great meeting you both today! Thanks so much for your wonderful hospitality inviting folks to your home - a great place, sounds like LOTS of great plans! Hope to see you both again soon, and see the progress you're making. Thank you - Joshua
Hey Rosellen
Tell me more about your energy efficiency interests please-
& John
What fun things are you making with your carpentry? And what Permaculture principles are you using in your landscaping design? have you seen Bill Wilson's Midwest Permaculture garden descriptions, the way he gets water to stay in his garden longer?
Looks like Bill has interviewd Rob Hopkins: Here is the link to the radio program. You can listen to it live right on your computer from anywhere in the world. Contact Bill Wilson or C. Milton Dixon
Thanks. I'm at front range learning about some new computer device. What fun (duh).

Profile Information
How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
Home gardening, energy efficiency.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
Hey, we don't know what's coming! And, we like gardening and John is a carpenter.
What background and skills do you bring to this community?
John is a carpenter with landscaping experience who has a strong interest in permaculture. Rosellen is learning of edible/useful plants that grow well here. We are planning our landscaping to yield results! We also have chickens.
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement?
A community of citizens that believes we have the power to build community resilience and self-reliance such that all species, now and in the future, will be able to meet their basic needs while maintaining a healthy planet.
Recently, two critical efforts to improve the future, healthcare reform in Washington and climate catastrophe mitigation in Copenhagen, hit a wall of compromise that proved (to me, at least) that our current model of relying on “leaders” to solve bi…
