Yay! I got the group put together. Now what do I do with it... don't know yet. The snow on Pikes Peak this morning heralded the start of fall. This morning was beautiful and warm, then the wind started... now there is a cold rain... and they are say…

Profile Information

How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
At this point I am only really an interested bystander. I know that Manitou Springs is a transition town, and I frequently go there for fresh water. (got to love the soda spring) I am going to be getting a trike so that I can bicycle again, but ride the bus.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I have a potager garden, and also offered to yard share though no one took me up on it this year. I try to grow more of my own food and keep it local. I love post peak technology and hope to incorporate more art projects into my life. I love to quilt and spin.
What background and skills do you bring to this community?
Gardening, quilting, sewing, knitting, crochet, cooking, preserving, teaching people to cook solar and friendship
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement?
I talk to anyone that will listen about it. I hope to get my permaculture certificate in '10.

trikes

Last night I went looking for bikes at my local bike store. (its just three blocks away and I had never gone in) They have some adult trikes, but they have recumbent(?) trikes that look great! I am hoping that spring will allow me to get moving on my own again. Nothing wrong with buses but I really would love to be able to ride again.

Thanks for joining! I have been looking for something in the Springs to get involved in... found nothing that wasn't really already full. So decided to make something for myself and other. Glad you hear a chord!
Right now I am staying in Boulder with my daughter and her family because I have MS and David is on the road a lot. I will be relocating back to the Springs sometime in the next five weeks and am really looking forward to it.
Looking forward to meeting everyone. Perhaps by having a pot luck this spring.

Hello Margaret! Just found and joined this group. Thanks for puttin' it out there! Read your profile, and heard a chord sound on the topics of solar cooking, crochet, spinning, and a permaculture certificate. Hope to talk with you on these one day soon!

I can only speak to my own experience. For most of my life I took the lead from my father and his cohorts in developing my worldview. When he died (a personal catastrophe), I took a few years to examine every aspect of my life -- including my values…

Hi Paul, Sorry for the delayed response. Life got way too busy in December. I'm out of town right now but will be back by January 1st. I'll call you to discuss what we did at the library and to see what we all can cultivate for 2010 in Colorado :)
