The meeting sounded very interesting as the last Grange meeting was. I couldn't attend as I wanted to present my thoughts on a change being made in my neighborhood. It was my first City Council meeting.
Could someone send the minutes of the meeting?

That was myself(Marcia) and my 2 grandsons. They were fascinated by are the vegetables and the BIG garden. A little early education always helps the future of our planet.
Is this where we post hours, Don?
I think it's 1 hour initial planting day, 1 hour watering and weeding, 1 hour Sunday supervising the drip team and harvesting veggies for the church folk.
Mon 1 1/2 hours moving some dirt into the trench. Today aga…
I finished wrapping the white tape around the brown connectors and delivered them back to the gardens. Then I found another connector in my couch!
Do you need it for tomorrow. I recall there's more brown connectors so if it's not needed by tomorrow…
I'm impressed. Do you have any quick tidbits for me. I have a 2nd floor balcony and have 5 tomatoes and 3 peppers west facing. Last year the heat got to some tomatoes.
Hi,
Planted some pole beans in the sw keyhole and checked the moisture. Sprinkled the south beds. The bees are going great with the middle hive seeming to be inactive. I put labels on some of those that I planted.

Marcia, there aren't any minutes from the film showing meeting we had on 11/10. About a dozen folks showed up, we watched the 1 hour-long film and then had a discussion about what we can do in our communities. The general theme of the discussion was that everyone is welcome to share their talents, skills and interests by organizing events, either at the Grange or wherever we'd like. We've already had canning classes, composting workshops, film showings, potlucks, permaculture classes - and we welcome more of the same as well as new themes.
We also discussed our local government and specifically the leaders of Broomfield, and how some of them are hostile or unaware of the coming challenges. We were brainstorming ways to reach those in government and to welcome them to our organization.
Hey, welcome to Transition, Marcia! I'm one of the members of Transition Westminster/Arvada/Broomfield (TWAB) - my wife, Margaret Emerson, started this subgroup and is a REALLY excellent source of info about Transition. I encourage you to drop her a note!
Also, I wanted to mention that if you're anxious to become involved, and you love gardening, HAVE I GOT A DEAL FOR YOU! ; ) TWAB has started a 1/2 acre community garden right in the heart of Broomfield, just north of 3rd on Main Street. We've been building up planting beds for several weeks now, and our big planting day is coming up this weekend. If you check out Events for the 16th and 17th, you'll find it. You should consider coming, and you should consider joining our local group!
A potluck!-good food and good talk!-sounds like a plan Margaret! Can't wait until you're back! My best to you up in Boulder, hoping you feel better each day!
Have you ever wondered if it could be done? Can you create a greenhouse that needs NO supplemental heating year round? – the answer is yes!! This greenhouse design, involving stored water as thermal mass and our bountiful Colorado sun, can be used w…
I can only speak to my own experience. For most of my life I took the lead from my father and his cohorts in developing my worldview. When he died (a personal catastrophe), I took a few years to examine every aspect of my life -- including my values…
Hi Paul,
Sorry for the delayed response. Life got way too busy in December. I'm out of town right now but will be back by January 1st. I'll call you to discuss what we did at the library and to see what we all can cultivate for 2010 in Colorado :)
