Hello! So excited to have discovered this network. I'm an Art/Art History grad at CU and am looking for anyone who'd be interested in beginning a permaculture garden in my yard with me in north Boulder (Folsom and Balsam). The plot is about 20 by 40…

How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
CU Going Local! We're bringing awareness, sustainable foods, educational/reskilling opportunities, optimism, gardens, and much more to the CU campus...
Also, I like to live as a transitioner. We won't get through this unless we majorly reevaluate our consumption habits. Bring a tupperware if you go out to eat, always have a jar or mug in your backpack, bike, bus, walk, grow your own food, freeze, solar dry food, can, compost, etc. etc. In order to understand transition, we have to start LIVING it. Also, it will make us become more in touch with ourselves and feel damn good and healthy.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I am interested in transition because I want to have kids, and grandkids, and great grandkids, and I want to feel good about bringing them into the world. It is so unfair that I might leave this world different than how I found it, it is so unfair to think that our kids or grandkids might not have clean oceans or clean air or the flatirons!
What background and skills do you bring to this community?
Hopefully more and more each day. I am a novice gardener, learning more each season. I speak Spanish--I can help spread transition to Latino communities.
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement?
I bring energy and a thirst to learn.

I definitely don't understand what's going on with oil prices right now, or where they're headed in the short term. In fact, I don't think anybody on earth does - we're exploring extremely volatile and uncharted waters at this point. I posted that article because I thought it offered a perspective I hadn't encountered before from an author that's been right on severaloccasions in the past. I tend to believe Gail's conclusion that the dollar is well on its way to oblivion, although whether it's from a deflationary death spiral or hyperinflation from all the money we're injecting into the system is anybody's guess. What's your take?

hey thank you for the time you put into the event last Thursday at Naropa, I am certain that you have gotten some terrific feedback, and I want to offer my thanks for your part in building that bridge.
A community of citizens that believes we have the power to build community resilience and self-reliance such that all species, now and in the future, will be able to meet their basic needs while maintaining a healthy planet.
Recently, two critical efforts to improve the future, healthcare reform in Washington and climate catastrophe mitigation in Copenhagen, hit a wall of compromise that proved (to me, at least) that our current model of relying on “leaders” to solve bi…
