It seems like we just celebrated Earth Day, but soon it will be time to celebrate "Sun Day".
There is no holiday, (holy-day) in the western world designed to celebrate all that the Sun gives. Of "Sunday", course the day of the week, was named after…
Here is a Youtube from the rehearsal for Symphony for 1000 drums. It would be fun to do some of these chants again at the Solstice Drum Circle.

How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
Trying to awake The Sun Tribe http://www.TheSunTribe.com
is basically the vision of expanding a mulicultural tribal model to the mainstream western world. The purpose is to increase awareness of the natural cycles and create a culture that celebrates these cycles. It is about bringing free fun, music and dance and colorful dress back into our lives.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I have been interested in this movement for almost 30 years, but it hasn't been called the Transition movement. I have been interested in it because I have imagined how society could be.
What background and skills do you bring to this community?
I have a degree in Solar Technology (1980), live in a Off the Grid Solar house made of recycled materials. I have developed a reformed Calendar called The Aquarian Calendar that is in harmony with the natural cycle. I also have a Solar Dome that visually teaches people about the movement of the Earth and Sun.
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement?
To share my knowledge on Sustainablity. I have a CD called "Songs for the Sun The Sun Tribe" You can listen to a couple of the songs here. I call it eco-rock because all of the songs promote living in harmony with the natural order. I also am a filmaker and am currently working on a DVD that also relates to sustainablity.

Hi Kelly
Thanks for the comment. I am new to this movement, and trying to figure out how my woodworking skill fits with this movement. Is anyone working on re-skilling in Fort Collins. This may be an area that I could contribute basic woodworking skill to those that may need it in the future.
How you live your life is your true religion. Who you are is what you care about and why. It is time to remember that the word Sunday is based on the actual Sun. The sun grows our food, keeps us warm and gives us light, it is time that we as a culture reawake to living in harmony with it by celebrating the natural turning points of the Solstices.
A potluck!-good food and good talk!-sounds like a plan Margaret! Can't wait until you're back! My best to you up in Boulder, hoping you feel better each day!
Have you ever wondered if it could be done? Can you create a greenhouse that needs NO supplemental heating year round? – the answer is yes!! This greenhouse design, involving stored water as thermal mass and our bountiful Colorado sun, can be used w…
I can only speak to my own experience. For most of my life I took the lead from my father and his cohorts in developing my worldview. When he died (a personal catastrophe), I took a few years to examine every aspect of my life -- including my values…
Hi Paul,
Sorry for the delayed response. Life got way too busy in December. I'm out of town right now but will be back by January 1st. I'll call you to discuss what we did at the library and to see what we all can cultivate for 2010 in Colorado :)
