Call up Longmont and let me know if the menu that I've inserted into the textbox is what you have in mind. If so, let's skype and work through the details. Also, see my brief explanation how your data on this site has to be modified to make the items link to this menu. Be sure to get in touch with questions.

Glad you enjoyed the 60 minutes video. I was shocked by the info. The U.S. population is being manipulated and we all know who is benefiting.

Hi Joshua - Welcome to Transition Longmont. Thanks for sharing about your work in the small, rural communities back east.

Profile Information

How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
Just getting started with local, organic farming, etc. Now doing an internship at Ollin Farms (www.ollinfarms.com) here in Longmont. My mentor and farm owner Mark, has let me get my hands dirty (literally!) in all aspects...tilling, hoop house construction, growing from seed, planting, weeding, marketing...all of it! Have been doing extensive reading/studying and want to learn the application.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I grew up (and intend to move back to) a very small town in rural Western PA. I used to think this type of community was outdated...however the more I learn about just how out of sync our current living standards have taken us from nature and the environment, I'm dying to learn all I can to help revitalize this gem of a small town.
What background and skills do you bring to this community?
Hard work, dedication, patience, open-mindedness. I have degrees in business, marketing, communications and some database skills as well. Happy to apply all to the cause.
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement?
I am more than happy to be a spokesperson and advocate for this cause within the community and work environment I currently find myself in...and more importantly, taking it "back east" to the small, rural communities that are actually the basis for the ideas of the Transition Movement. These folks have unfortunately come to believe that they are behind the times, not "with it"...when if they came to realize how far ahead of the curve they actually are by re-implementing some of the practices that were key to their founding and early development, they'd be light years on the way...and much happier, healthier and at peace because of it.

Is there anyway either, or both Transition Longmont and Boulder could get Dave Gardner or Growthbusters.com up from the Springs for a presentation?

I came across his site, work and documentary via a link on Orion's website and their article "The Gospel of Consumption", super well written by Jeffrey Kaplan....

Dave is working on completing his documentary, "Hooked on Growth"...trailer is at his website:
