I guess it depends on what people are up for. Do folks want to meet in a public place or is someone able to open their home for a gathering of several or more people? (My place would not accommodate.)
If gathering at a public place for a beer or ...
How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
I'm involved in the Transition movement by having visions and ideas about what a post-carbon world could look like, and I have the desire to help make that happen. I'm interested in being more actively involved in the Transition movement and learning more about what it means as a movement. I am currently a member of the Boulder Transition steering committee.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I identify with the Transition movement because I know that we are at a moment in our history where we need to make a major paradigm shift in terms of how we interact with the planet and with each other. I recognize that when individuals redevelop skills to gain greater self-sufficiency, the greater community can become more sufficient as well, and this interests me as an human being. Professionally as a music psychotherapist, I am especially interested in utilizing creative methods for helping individuals raise the consciousness necessary to bring about these changes.
What background and skills do you bring to this community?
Transportation is very important to me since my husband and I are car free. I think that all people have the right to travel and explore the world around them, but it needs to be done in such way that it is efficient and environmentally sound. Education interests me because of the opportunities available for teachers to really influence the future. I'm interested in the idea of curriculum being developed in such a way as to provide a holistic, hands on approach to learning that will aid children in learning life skills and becoming well-rounded human beings. Health is an interest as well because I'm fascinated by the body-mind (and I would say, spirit) connection implicit to health. Community Development is also an area that I'm interested in because I'm curious about what makes a community vibrant, and I look forward to being a member of a vibrant community.
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement?
I think that I could lead discussion groups (both musically influenced and not) about various topics pertinent to the Transition movement, in which people can explore and discuss their hopes and fears for a post-carbon future.
Hi Les- Thank you for the welcome and the interest! The idea of starting a discussion devoted to "creative methods for consciousness raising" is quite intriguing, although I've never done such in a thing in this particular type of format. Let me sit with it for a bit and see what I can come up with.

Hi Faith - Welcome to Transition Colorado and Transition Boulder. A music psychotherapist -- what a wonderful topic. Would you be interested in starting a discussion here on this site devoted to "creative methods for helping individuals raise the consciousness necessary to bring about these changes." Fascinating!
I don't quite know where to put this but wanted to offer it for discussion.
