Hi Myrto, I did some looking at the rainwater harvesting changes. I wrote them up in my blog: http://coloradopermaculture.blogspot.com/search/label/rainwater%20harvesting There are some pilot projects allowing new developments to store rainwater,…

I'll add (the thread is a little old, but anyways) that the change in the rainwater harvesting law is not as far-ranging as it sounds. Only people off municipal water are legally allowed to store rainwater. This means that HOAs and anyone seriously…

Profile Information

How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
This year I've been involved with the Food Working Group of Transition Santa Cruz, CA.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I've been deeply involved with grassroots environmental activism and sustainable agriculture since 1999. I wrote the essay, "Peak Oil and Community Food Security," and was co-founder of an international network for action confronting the root causes of climate change. It's exciting to see the emergence of the Transition movement, which expands the kinds of work I've been doing to a much wider base of people.
What background and skills do you bring to this community?
Sustainable agriculture; permaculture design; grassroots & community organizing; writing
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement?
I'm interested in the possibility of moving to Boulder, CO. With the recent liberalization of Colorado's rainwater catchment law, it seems there may now be a great opportunity to start creating a lot more permaculture design & rainwater harvesting systems at people's homes.

I can only speak to my own experience. For most of my life I took the lead from my father and his cohorts in developing my worldview. When he died (a personal catastrophe), I took a few years to examine every aspect of my life -- including my values…
