If anyone could use moving, transport, or delivery services, for either yourself or your business, I have a 5' x 10' trailer (ie...soil amendment or plant delivery from local nurseries, CSA drop-offs, odd jobs, etc.). I also do land design consulting, landscape maintenance (organic only), and can help with farm system planning, soil improvement and/or cover cropping to get ready for next spring's planting.

I'm wondering if we have any HAM or CB radio operators in the crowd?
Communication is THE primary point of failure and/or problems during Emergency situations. It comes up during every exercise. Transitioners are going to need communications capabilities to keep local communities going.

Hi Transition Resource Group,
I'm the admin for a non-profit called Raw Milk Association of Colorado. We're new; a group of small Colorado raw milk producers. It's illegal to sell raw milk in Colorado, but it's legal to buy a share in a herd and pay a farmer to board the animal - then you get the milk for free, because it's your animal (or partly yours).

Why would you do that? Raw milk is more nutritious than cooked milk, and more digestible. About 80% of people who are lactose-intolerant can drink raw milk. In my experience, both me and one of my sons is lactose intolerant, but we can drink raw milk. My husband and two of my sons were diagnosed with asthma, but it disappeared a few months after we started drinking raw milk.

My husband still has a little hay fever, but it's much much better now....I read that the younger you start, the better your chances of healing are. People who have a nutrient-dense diet make babies with strong bones and a wide dental arch, with room for all their beautiful straight white teeth. Ever wonder why all kids need braces nowadays? Raw milk can help with that - much cheaper than an orthodontist...

Raw milk is the gateway to small farms. They can earn more money selling direct to the consumer, and maybe make some cheeses and yogurt to sell too. Then they can invest in some chickens, and perhaps some pigs or cattle to raise for meat. The money they earn goes into the local economy - your community.

The bonds you form with the people who make your food suddenly make your food much more interesting, personal, and important. You can show your kids where milk and eggs come from - maybe even name the new calf, or know what it feels like to lift a hen's rump and find a fresh egg underneath. Small thrill, but one you won't forget.

So support your local farmer, get a herdshare and drink raw milk!

Hey,

A group of us here in Longmont (Reneckville) are in process of publishing a local, independent, noncorporate magazine. The title is VIZ... It will be published six times a year. We will soon have a website, and we have a mockup that demonstrates what we are about. If you want to see it, email me at spadeandshovel@gmail.com, and I will email back with the mock up attached. We are selling ads. They run from $60.00 on up to $550.00. I also have a rate card with prices, sizes, etc. which I can also emaIl. The price includes a link from our website to yours.

Let me know if you are interested.

I solely operate Contemplative Computing - a business providing comprehensive computer/internet services to home users, artists, spiritual teachers, healers, small businesses, non-profits etc.

I do repairs, upgrades, security, backup solutions, web design, lessons, and soon more workshops as well.

I am very interested in helping my clients develop more sane, embodied, and wholesome relationships with information technology whether they are struggling to find the "ctrl" key or they are long-time experts in the field.

I operate a nearly full-service bicycle repair service from my garage in South Boulder. I am able to perform nearly all aspects of bicycle servicing from out-of-box builds to regularly scheduled annual maintenance to complete overhauls. I use as ecologically sound products as possible as well as welcome donated bikes to make available to others in our community and abroad. I try to recycle as many hard to recycle materials as possible (chains, tubes, tires, cables and housing). I also am willing to take the time to schedule a training session to work personally with the rider to learn how to service his or her own bicycle. My rates are fair and I am interested in skill sharing and bartering as alternatives. www.boulderbikedocs.com and @ blaes@boulderbikedocs.com.
