I think my certification is on its way (Zia?) but I'll use the momentum and join anyways.

We are making a trial of a website which would link to permaculture gardener websites where you could follow what they are doing from plan to outcome, and which would have posts about related topics.

I do have concerns about being redundant, but I think it would do something this ning site does not do, in its more "blog-like" and less "social network like" configuration. There is also a new "meetup" group for Boulder permaculturists, where comments also can be posted.

Comments welcome here or on the site: permacultureboulder.blogspot.com

Thought you might like to see this produce from the Broomfield garden:

The response to the opportunity to permaculture 1.3 acres next to the Boulder shelter has been lighter than we had hoped - and I have been too busy building gardens to post much here - but we have successfully built, planted and almost completed the drip system for 18 beds. David Ward will be up there this coming Wednesday evening to show off what we have accomplished. See the event for details.

In particular we are looking for people to demonstrate permaculture expertise for the general public.

Hey everyone!

Sounds like you have the perfect deep mulched keyhole places to let loose some red worms that will dive under into the dark moist & do their castings at the feeding surfaces & PROLIFERATE. The worms could be harvested from time to time. John Anderson says this way is the least work for us to keep worms working the gardens & feeding them shredded paper, cardboard & food scraps. I'm going to let my bucket of worms out into my sheet mulched areas when it warms up to 50 degrees for a few days.

& Pam thanks for sharing what you are doing!
Cheers/
Coco

Hey Pam,

Sounds like a great project! I've been developing an open-source species list of plants that are adapted to our bioregion. You can find it at http://tinyurl.com/denverforestgardenspecies. Please feel free to edit or add to it as you come across more information!

Native Food (& Medicine) Plants Garden

Dear Friends,
I've been invited to grow a Native Food (and Med) Plants garden on a BoCo Open Space farm. This means plants, a lot that are drought-tolerant, that were eaten pre-settlement, and pre-settlement native food plants from elsewhere that could grow here. Ones that are adapted to this climate and are hardy. If this project is right up your alley and you'd like to be part of it, please let me know soon.

Thanks much,
Pam Sherman

I would be pleased to have you Claire. It you can't make it the two posted events, we will be posting more, or, let me know when it would be convenient to meet at the site. I was thinking of perennial herbs to border the beds and including annual herbs in the species mix inside the beds . . . what do you think?

Looking forward to working with you, David.

Hey David,
I'd be very interested in helping with an herbal garden, or even an herbal garden as part of a food forest, etc. Let me know your thoughts.
thanks, Claire
