Just had and opportunity to see what is happening in Louisville. Great work!

It is similar in ways to what we are doing in Broomfiled, Boulder, and on South Federal in Denver.

I have some ideas about the "organizational" side and would love to compare notes about technique. Thanks for your good work.

Are there yard owners and urban farmers ready and available to help get a NSA going in North Boulder?
Seth Sovak Comment by Seth Sovak on March 10, 2009 at 7:54pm
In honor of this group's ideal and purpose, I created an event and I hope that people will consider attending and gather for an opportunity to share and inspire one and other.

Look under events: Garden Together, a volunteer day and potluck

Are their any master gardeners or gifted organic farmers out there who would like to start an NSA in Platt Park in Denver? I have a green thumb for flowers, but haven't tried veggies. We could start with a part of my yard.

Any members in the west Highlands /Edgewater area ? My daughter and I are planning a big expansion to her yard vegetable garden and would like to met others to share ideas/plants etc. Tomorrow I am going to get a load of manure and get ready to plant the peas and spinach !!

It is the city. Someone from the LSVL Board of Conservation said that I could bring it before them.
Kathryn Comment by Kathryn on March 4, 2009 at 11:13am
Gerry - who owns the land? is it HOA - and if so, you will have to work with them for restrictions/permissions - that will likely be a tougher nut to crack than the City. If it's City owned land that's a whole other story - there may be liability issues. Actual permits or zoning (allowable uses) is final issue.

Thank you in advance for uploading it, David.

On a separate topic, does anyone know how to go about working with the City of Louisville to take advantage of common areas for gardening?

This would be areas such as small plots of land between homes such as at our cul de sac at 778 Owl Court.

Thank you in advance to anyone with any ideas, insights, or contacts with the city. I seek to ask permission prior to engaging in food production.
