Who we are

Event: Green Drinks/Sustainability Happy Hour

The Colorado Springs Conservation Corps is a local, grassroots, non-profit organization whose mission is to:

  • Educate the local public about all conservation solutions available in our region.
  • Provide inexpensive and/or free conservation products for all local residents.
  • Save local residents money and energy.
  • Reduce local pollution.
HOW WILL WE KEEP IN TOUCH?

We can be contacted via e-mail and our volunteers will respond quickly to all questions. Our e-mail address is info@conservationhardware.org

The Center will open to answer questions and give reliable referrals, 7-days a week. Our free information hotline 636-BULB (2852), will be available during store hours, Monday through Thursday 10-6, Friday & Saturday 10-7, and Sunday 11-5.

Corps Captains will be trained to educate, organize and provide conservation devices for their living complexes, places of work, worship, or recreation through the Center.
If you request, we will update you regularly on new products.

HOW LONG YOU WILL EXIST AS AN ORGANIZATION?

Only as long as we are needed. Once our community reaches its conservation goals or inexpensive conservation products are readily available at other retail outlets, we will disband as an organization and a store, and encourage you to donate your valuable time and money to other good causes in the community.

WHY WILL THIS BE SUCCESSFUL IN COLORADO SPRINGS?

Every city on Colorado's Front Range went through the drought from 2003-2006, but Colorado Springs residents currently use less per water per capita than any other Front Range city. In Colorado Springs, we value our clean air and beautiful outdoor environment. And we are a thrifty community - one that is willing to not waste and to live within our means.

Hi Paul, Sorry for the delayed response. Life got way too busy in December. I'm out of town right now but will be back by January 1st. I'll call you to discuss what we did at the library and to see what we all can cultivate for 2010 in Colorado :)
