Dear Friends,

2009 has had an eventful growing season and we are now reaping the benefits of our labor. If you have not yet been to the Broomfield or Boulder gardens I would urge you to do it now, before frost, because words and pictures do not convey the full experience of what we have created in those places. All of us have experienced traditional agricultural techniques as they are employed in most gardens – I wouldn't want you to miss this opportunity to experience what we can do with - No Weed, No Water, No Till, Deep Mulch, Drip Irrigated – permaculture – gardening techniques.

For more information, go to our web site:

The world changes when any of us makes new choices – how shall we change the world today?

The response to the opportunity to permaculture 1.3 acres next to the Boulder shelter has been lighter than we had hoped - and I have been too busy building gardens to post much here - but we have successfully built, planted and almost completed the drip system for 18 beds. David Ward will be up there this coming Wednesday evening to show off what we have accomplished. See the event for details.

Coco: You should take this up with David. I don't think this is the forum for it.

David Greenwald just recheduled the monthly Transition meeting to same time same day, Pam

Is there any way to change the time to earlier so both can be well attended- as of now they are running against each other, a real pity, as we've been trying to get our Inner Transition off the ground for along time.

Can we try to book the library & speaker Cortopassi earlier that day giving an hour in between to get from one to the other?
Cheers/
Coco

Hello Transition Boulder
I would like to make this group aware of a discussion group about The Great Turning by David Korten that I will host in my home in Lafayette, from April 9-May 7; I have set up a group for it here. This would qualify as an awareness raising function. Hope to see some of you there!

We are very excited to announce that the City of Boulder has just approved a permaculture garden on 1.3 acres next to the Boulder Homeless Shelter on North Broadway. The preliminary design will allow for some 200 sheet mulched key hole beds. Any one who wants to participate can contribute what time, materials or money they want - and share in what the garden produces - as described in the events I posted for March 24 and March 28.

We will be working at the site for the full season. If those dates don't work for you let me know when you are available and we will make it happen . . .
